SECONDARY EDUCATION

EXPLORATORY SESSION

Does your group want to visit the museum in a focused way, but independently?  Then book an exploratory session beforehand.  During a 30-minute, multimedia session, we introduce to you the museum's set-up, its main theme and an introductory film. You can visit the museum after this.  For schools, we have developed museum fact sheets which enable you to take in the stories, documents and multimedia at your own pace. Note: do not forget to download the museum facts sheets and bring them to the museum!

MUSEUM VISIT WITH GUIDE

Would you prefer to visit the museum with one of our guides? After all, they will be able to give you a great deal of extra information about the photographs and documents on display.  We also invite you to actively participate and dwell on the questions which history puts to us.  Please note that the number of guided tours per day is limited.

ME SEM ROM

Everyone has an opinion about everything and everyone. For example, we are all fascinated by Roma and Sinti, but would rather not have a caravan site too close to where we live. Where does this negative perception come from? During the workshop “ME SEM ROM, How do you view Roma and Sinti?” your students gain a critical awareness and reflect on the prevailing (distorted) image of Roma and Sinti. In addition, on the basis of photo and film material, we build a realistic and current picture of this group and encourage a healthy and constructive discussion in the process.

CHILDREN IN HIDING

The travelling exhibition 'Children in Hiding' tells the story of Jewish children who managed to escape the horror of the Holocaust. They went into hiding in monasteries, schools and with private individuals. The exhibition consists of 15 hardboard panels that can be set up in your school.  We also supply you with all the documents and photographs from the exhibition to use in the classroom.  There is also an activity booklet that is written with primary-school children in mind.  The exhibition is suitable for children from 10 years old.
