On 12 December, the board of Kazerne Dossin took the decision to cancel an evening rental agreement with Pax Christi and arranged for the event to be held at an adjacent facility.

Kazerne Dossin allows its facilities to be used for third-party MICE (meetings, incentives, conferencing, exhibitions) events. For such events, the museum rents its facilities, including its auditorium, in the new museum building (not in the memorial). These facilities are available to third parties against payment for events such as meetings and congresses. In terms of content, the employees of Kazerne Dossin are not involved in these events; they are involved only with the practical management of the rental agreement.

The procedure in this case was as follows. The agreement concerning Pax Christi holding an awards ceremony at Kazerne Dossin was made in March 2019. The award recipients were not identified at the time and were only recently conveyed to Kazerne Dossin. The Board of Directors subsequently determined that the event would not be held in the museum’s facilities and arranged for it to be held at an adjacent facility.
